Description

The present work aims to describe the endodontic treatment of a lower right permanent first molar, affected by incomplete rhizogenesis. The previously mentioned clinical condition is associated with the diagnosis of pulpal necrosis in a pediatric patient. The suggested therapeutic proposal was pulp revascularization with the aid of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) to seal the entrance to the canals. The study portrays a case report with an 8-year-old female patient, whose care and endodontic treatment took place at CPOVALE – Centro de Postgraduate de Odontologia do Vale do São Francisco, Juazeiro – BA. Given the above, we can conclude that, despite all the challenges that still exist in treating a tooth with incomplete rhizogenesis, the pulp revascularization technique proves to be quite effective in elucidating these cases. Furthermore, periodic clinical and radiographic monitoring of these cases is of fundamental importance, as these are teeth that need to be preserved for a long period of time, regardless of the therapy used for their treatment.
